DESCRIPTION:Field Operations: The Highline and Beyond\n\nLecture by Tatiana V. Choulika\n\nMonday\, 17 October at 5:30pm\n\nFJ Taylor Visual Arts Center\, Room 103\n\nThe School of Design is happy to welcome landscape architect Tatiana V. Choulika to the Louisiana Tech University campus.\n\nMs. Choulika serves as Principal of James Corner Field Operations\, a leading-edge urban design\, landscape architecture and public realm design practice based in New York City. The practice is renowned for strong contemporary design across a variety of high-profile project types and scales\, from large urban districts and complex post-industrial sites\, to small well-crafted\, detail design projects. There is a special commitment to the design of a vibrant and dynamic public realm\, informed by the interactive ecology between people and nature. Major projects include the High Line\, New York City; Santa Monica’s Tongva Park and Ken Gensler Square; The Race Street Pier\, Philadelphia; Freshkills Park\, Staten Island; MGM Mirage City Center\, Las Vegas; Shelby Farms Park\, Memphis; Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park\, London; Chicago’s Navy Pier; Qianhai Water City\, China; Seattle’s Central Waterfront; and the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront in Hong Kong.\n\nWith over 25 years’ of professional international experience with planning and design\, Tatiana oversees some of the firm’s most complex urban projects.  She is currently managing the planning and design of Seattle’s Central Waterfront project; the design and implementation of Freshkills Park in Staten Island; and the design of the public realm for Columbia University’s new Manhattanville Campus. Tatiana is a professionally registered landscape architect and holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania\, a Master in Sciences and Management of Natural Resources from the University of Edinburgh\, and a Bachelor of Science in landscape Architecture from Edinburgh College of Art\, Heriot-Watt University.\n\nFor more information about the firm\, please visit:\n\nhttp://www.fieldoperations.net/home.html\n\nCONTACT\n\nFor more information about the lecture\, please call the School of Design at 318.257.2816 or visit the School of Design website at http://www.design.latech.edu
