Assistant professor and photography program coordinator, Frank Hamrick has a portfolio of his work included in the revised textbook “The Elements of Photography”. The portfolio focuses on Hamrick’s choice of presenting his photography via handmade books as a way to join it with his writing and other creative outlets. In his statement Hamrick writes, “If you were to think of a photograph in the same way you consider a single song, then an artist’s book is similar to an entire album of music complete with cover art and liner notes.”
Also included in the new textbook is work by Louisiana Tech University photography graduate student Dan Snow. The book includes and discusses Snow’s use of analog/digital hybrid techniques to create the final photograph he envisions.
“Elements of Photography” second edition by Angela Faris Belt is published by Focal Press.
