Megan Singleton visits Tech

St. Louis artist and educator Megan Singleton visited the Louisiana Tech University School of Art this week where she installed an exhibition titled “Eight Thousand Daughters Woven Into Bayou Braids” in the Bethea Gallery. The exhibition addresses invasive plant species in Louisiana waterways. Singleton also presented a public lecture about her work, which involves collecting these invasive plant species and using them to create both two dimensional and three dimensional paper based art forms. Additionally, Singleton led a workshop where 25 students learned how to produce handmade paper created from leaves and grass collected from the campus’ green areas.
