Alex Shows, an M.Arch candidate in the School of Design, was recently awarded Honorable Mention in the Open Category of the 15th Annual Steel Competition for his project entitled SentÄ. Administered by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) and sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), the competition challenges students to explore a variety of design issues related to the use of steel in design and construction. Over 500 entries were submitted by architecture students from throughout the United States. Dr. Pasquale De Paola served as Faculty Sponsor.
The winning projects will be on view at the 104th ACSA Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA (March 17-19, 2016) and the American Institute of Architects Annual Convention in Philadelphia, PA (May 19-21, 2016). Additionally, ACSA & AISC will be publishing a full competition summary book (Fall 2015) highlighting all of the winners, including more images and additional information on all projects. Congratulations, Alex!
