The School of Design is happy to welcome painter, filmmaker and skateboarder to the Louisiana Tech University campus.
Brian Lotti was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1972 and currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. His interest in art began at a young age and was galvanized during high school years when he would often skip lunch to work on paintings or ceramics in the art classroom. Brian also had a passion for skateboarding, and rode professionally for a few years inventing the “Bigspin” and a few other maneuvers before beginning formal study of painting and drawing. Brian graduated with a BA in Art from San Francisco State University in 1998 and moved to Northern California where he practiced landscape and portrait painting for several years. In 2004 Brian returned to Southern California to direct a motion picture about skateboarding. 1st and Hope(2006), features an epic day of skateboarding throughout downtown Los Angeles. Currently Brian spends his time working on landscape and figure paintings in and around his home neighborhood of Echo Park in Los Angeles.
